The hotel offers 38 beautifully refurbished en suite rooms, each designed with comfort in mind and featuring air conditioning, flat-screen TVs with Freeview, complimentary Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee making facilities. Our range of accommodation includes six superior rooms and three distinctive feature rooms, among them the renowned Nelson Room, where Lord Nelson himself once stayed. With its exceptional city centre location, The Merchant’s House Hotel provides an ideal base for exploring Salisbury, one of the UK’s most historically rich and culturally significant destinations.

For added convenience, the hotel offers limited parking and EV charging at the rear on a first come, first served basis. Please note: two bays require you to be charging whilst parked, these bays are appropriately signed, but if you are unsure, please speak to our reception team at the hotel.

OUR HISTORY

The Merchant’s House Hotel in Salisbury occupies a 15th Century Merchants House with a wealth of history and was once known as The Catherine Wheel which was a regular drinking haunt for Cavaliers. One of our rooms, The Nelson Room, is where on the 20th December 1800 Nelson himself stayed after being wined and dined and given the freedom of the city.
